“He Delivered Them From Their Distress”
Psalm 107:1–32 May 16-17, 2026
God responds to desperate people who cry out to Him. Psalm 107 reveals a repeating pattern of:
- Trouble
- Crying out to God
- Deliverance
- Thanksgiving
1. What repeated phrase appears throughout Psalm 107?
2. What four groups of people are described in the passage?
I. God Rescues the Lost (vv. 1–9)
Key Truths
- Sin leads people into spiritual wandering.
- The world cannot satisfy the soul.
- God leads people “by the right way.”
- Testimony matters: “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so.”

- Where have I been wandering spiritually?
- What has God rescued me from?

II. God Frees the Prisoners (vv. 10–16)

III. God Heals the Foolish (vv. 17–22)

IV. God Calms the Storms (vv. 23–32)

- God can calm storms or carry us through them.
- Jesus speaks peace into chaos.
