1) Eyes of Wisdom

Job 31:1, 4:  I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a girl….  Does he not see my ways and count my every step?  

2) The Lust Problem

1 John 2:16, NASB: For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.

Matthew 5:27-28: You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’  But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

1) Envoys 

2 Corinthians 5:20:  We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.

Proverbs 13:17: A wicked messenger falls into trouble, but a trustworthy envoy brings healing.

2)  The Righteousness of God

2 Corinthians 5:17-18, 21: Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!  All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ….   God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Romans 3:22-25: This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.  There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by 

Christ Jesus.  God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood.

3) Wrath No More!

Ephesians 2:3-5: All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts.  Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath.  But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.

Romans 5:9-11:  Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!  For if, when we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!   Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

4) Ministry of Reconciliation

2 Corinthians 5:18-19:  All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them.

5) Ambassadors of Reconciliation

2 Corinthians 5:19-20: And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.  We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.   We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.
