Special Guests:  Alexander & Elena Purshaga

My wife and I were born into Christian families in Ukraine, during the USSR.  We were raised in the underground Pentecostal church.  From 1988 to 1992, I served as an Evangelist in Ukraine.  In 1992 the Lord called us for a mission to Moscow, Russia, where we founded the first church.  It later became the mother church for many new churches in Russia, then Ukraine and Central Asia, where we work among Muslims.

We have two biological children, four adopted children, and
six grandchildren.  My degree in Christian education is Doctor of Theology.  Elena is a doctor in Christian education.

Even before the large-scale invasion of Russian troops into Ukraine, we had tense relations with the government in Moscow since 2000.  In 2000, our land for the construction of our church was illegally taken away by Moscow government.  Then in 2007, our church building in Moscow was burned down by the opposition.  For my peaceful resistance, I was repeatedly arrested and placed in Moscow prisons for short periods of time.  Less than a week after the Ukrainian invasion began, our family had to leave Russia because of the arrest and falsified accusation of my wife and I for treason, espionage on behalf of Ukraine, and discrimination against the Russian army.  These charges against us were prepared by the FSB and the Investigative Committee of Russia.

We are now temporarily living in California, continuing to care for churches in Russia and Ukraine.  The people from our churches involuntarily ended up in other countries because of the war.  Through training, sending, and supporting these missionaries, we are now working through a new generation of missionaries trained in our ministry.
