This Week’s Teaching:

 1)  Not Your Own

 1 Corinthians 6:19-20:   Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?  You are not your own; you were bought at a price.  Therefore honor God with your body. 

DQ 1) What does the Scripture mean when it says, “You are not 

            your own”?

2)  Remain 

John 15:4-5:  Remain in me, and I will remain in you.  No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine.  Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.  I am the vine; you are the branches.  If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 

DQ 2) What does it mean to “remain in Christ”?

3)  By His Spirit 

Zechariah 4:6:  So he said to me, "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the LORD Almighty. 

DQ 3) What are characteristics of people upon whom God pours

            out the anointing and power of His Holy Spirit?

4)  Greater Things 

John 14:12-13:  I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing.  He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.  And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. 

DQ 4) What “greater things” might followers of Jesus do that He 

           did not personally do during His earthly ministry?

5)  Come! 

Revelation 22:17:   The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!"  And let him who hears say, "Come!"  Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life. 

DQ 5) What is the meaning of "The Spirit and the bride say, 

           'Come!'"?
