Our Living Hope: Gazing Steadfast Upon Jesus Christ
Weekend Teaching by Jonathan MeoJanuary 31- February 1, 2026
1) A Secure Anchor
Hebrews 6:19-20: This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus…
Joshua 2:18-21: ...Behold, when we come into the land, you shall tie this scarlet cord (Heb: tikvah) in the window through which you let us down, and you shall gather into your house your father and your mother, your brothers, and all your father's household."
DQ 1) What is the purpose of the anchor for our souls and why might there be tension in the line at times?

2. The Cross
Hebrews 12:2: Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
DQ 2) How can the cross bring you to a place of hope in Christ daily?

3. He Is Our Peace
Ephesians 2:14: For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility…
Mark 4:38: But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. And they woke him and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?”
DQ 3) How do we keep from being moved by the chaos all around us and maintain peace within our hearts?

4. Love One Another
Philippians 1:3-8: I thank my God in all my remembrance of you,
4 always in every prayer of mine for you
all making my prayer with joy,
5 because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.
6 And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ…...
8 For God is my witness, how I yearn for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus.
DQ 4) Is it easier to have hope in isolation or in a loving community? How has the devil so effectively distracted us away from the mandate to love one another?
