Jeremiah - Hope for Wounded Soldiers

Weekend Teaching by Jonathan Meo

January 24-25, 2026

Introduction:

The “Weeping” Prophet’s Ministry and Spiritual Warfare

1.  You Need to Know the Truth

John 8:31-32: So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

DQ 1:  What happens if we do not sift through confusion, deception, ignorance and doubt?

2.  Never Will I Leave You, Never Will I Forsake You

Hebrews 13:5: "Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, 'Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you'".

Deuteronomy 31:6: "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you".

DQ 2:  How has the Lord been faithful as a Provider and a Comforter to you?

3.  Plans to Prosper and Not to Harm
Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
John 10:10: “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly”.

DQ 3:   All things are not good, but God will work all things together for our good. Does this justify the perpetuation of evil? How can we solve the “Problem of Pain”?

4.  He Who is Coming, Will Come and Will Not Delay
Hebrews 10:36-38: You need to persevere, so that after you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised.  For, “In just a little while, He who is coming will come and will not delay. My righteous one will live by faith…”

DQ 4:  One day at at time… When we alter our perspective to the eternal, our time to endure is truly short. What timeframe/form have you confined God’s answers to your prayers? Is an acorn an oak tree?

5.  Not Worthy to Be Compared to the Glory

Romans 8:18For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

DQ 5:  How does the glory revealed in us go beyond us and extend as our spiritual legacy?
