Worship Arts Chess Tournament and Game Night
Friday, October 2nd & November 6th from 6-9pm in the Apex at Celebration Church
Tables with other board games will also be available for those who aren't interested in playing chess.
Tournament Rules:
-Registration is from 6:00 - 6:15
-3 rounds of 5 minute 'blitz' chess will determine your tournament bracket.
-You will play 4 rounds of 10 minute 'rapid' chess against pairings in your bracket.
-Your placement (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) will be determined by the number of points you score during the 10-minute section against opponents in your bracket.
-Participants who arrive after round 1 of the blitz section begins will be placed in bracket 1 to face the best players from the blitz section.
-Players who arrive after round 1 of the rapid section begins will not be able to participate in the tournament. However, anyone is welcome to set up a board on one of our tables for casual play during the tournament.
-Players who have no opponent for a round of the tournament will receive 1 point for that round. (This will only be necessary if there is an uneven amount of participants in the tournament.)
-Players will receive 1 point per win, 0.5 points per draw, and 0 points per loss.
-Players with the same number of points will be ranked based on the total points of their opponents.
-Points earned in the Blitz section will not be counted towards your score in the Rapid section of the tournament.
