Health and Safety Guidelines for Worship Arts Students and Families

Building Safety: For the safety of our staff and students, all exterior doors at Celebration will remain locked during Worship Arts classes. All students, family members and visitors will enter through the Summit lobby entrance. If you see anything or anyone that causes concern in the building or parking lot, call Connie Ward @ 423-579-2227 or Michelle Russell @ 423-335-2949 immediately.

Temperature Taking: Every person who enters the building will come to the Summit lobby. Our serve and pray coordinator, Connie Ward, will take temperatures and ask the following questions from the Center for Disease Control.  Please allow a few extra minutes before your class time to complete this important safety step. Parents/guardians must accompany all preschool and elementary students as they enter the Summit lobby for their temperature check and health screening questions:

  1. Have you been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the past 14 days (Note: does not apply to medical personnel, first responders, or other individuals who encounter COVID-19 as part of their professional or caregiving duties while wearing appropriate PPE)?

  2. Are you experiencing a cough, shortness of breath or sore throat?

  3. Have you had a fever in the last 48 hours?

  4. Have you had new loss of taste or smell?

  5. Have you had vomiting or diarrhea in the last 24 hours?

Stickers: Students, parents and visitors will be given a colored sticker when they complete their temperature check & health screening questions.  Teachers will not admit students to class without this sticker.

Sanitization: Teachers will distribute hand sanitizer to each student at the beginning and end of every class. Teachers will sanitize tables, chairs, door knobs, light switches and all equipment before every class. Bathroom doors should remain open at all times. All rooms will be professionally sanitized before and after each day of classes.

Masks:  The leadership of Celebration Church has encouraged everyone ages 12 and up to wear a mask in the building. All staff is REQUIRED to comply with this request.  Students and teachers do not have to wear masks when dancing, singing, acting or attending sign language class but should wear masks during devotions, in the hallways and at all other times.

From the leadership team of Celebration Church:

Sullivan County, Tennessee issued a face covering/mask executive order effective 12:01 AM July 12, 2020.  Places of worship are exempt from the order.  Nonetheless, in the interest of public health and as a courtesy to others, Celebration Church is encouraging participants in any church activities to wear face coverings inside the church building anytime they are within 6 feet of other persons.  This request does not apply to children 12 years of age or younger nor to anyone who cannot safely wear a face covering.  Children 2 or younger should not wear face coverings; parental discretion will apply to children between 3 and 12 years of age.  Neither adults nor children will be requested to wear face coverings when eating, drinking, exercising or when outside of the church buildings.

Class sizes: Most class sizes will be limited to 12 students. Teachers will discourage students from hand holding, hugs and other physical contact and will keep social distancing in mind when planning lessons.

Student Pick Up: All pre dance and elementary students must be picked up by a family member. Parents must inform each teacher of any alternate pick up plans or custody issues in advance. If unfamiliar people come to the classroom for pick up, teachers will not release the student.  Assistant teachers may escort younger children to their next Worship Arts class at the request of parents. Middle School students and older may leave the classroom unaccompanied.

These guidelines will be updated regularly as we adapt to changing circumstances and information.

Assumption of Risk Related to Coronavirus/COVID-19: COVID-19 is contagious and known to spread by person-to-person contact. By attending Worship Arts classes and Celebration Church, you acknowledge the risk of public gatherings and voluntarily assume the risk that you and/or your family may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 while at the church. You agree to assume all risks and waive any liability against the Celebration Church Worship Arts Ministry.
