Here at Worship Arts we have something for every age and skill level!

Worship Arts offers group classes in all the arts including art, dance, and music. Private lessons are also offered for voice and many different instruments. Our classes and lessons focus on teaching students fundamental skills, techniques and how to use creativity to glorify God. All classes are Christ centered, include a weekly devotional and use Christian music. Many Worship Arts classes will have the opportunity to participate in the weekend worship services at Celebration Church as well as outreach locations.

NOTE: All classes are broken down by age and skill level, (i.e., Elementary School, Middle School, High School, Adult) depending upon interest and availability of space.

3D Art and Sculpture

Students will create 3D art using various mediums such as clay, cardboard and paper mache.

Acro Dance

In acro dance, students will learn to execute acrobatic skills with precision and control and to implement them into a dance format. Students will be required to have a standing backbend but are not required to return to the standing position yet. This class will build students’ flexibility and strength not only in their muscles but in their walk with Christ.

Acting 101

Acting 101 is a beginner theatre class, where students will learn how to act, tell stories on stage, and play theatre games. They will focus on creating and performing Christ-centered skits at Celebration and in the community.

Art: Mixed Media

Mixed Media will teach students to see, enjoy and appreciate the beauty of our world and to use the artistic talents God has given them to glorify His name.  Students will learn drawing, painting, collage, paper sculpture, print making, weaving and ceramics.

Ballet

An interpretive, lyrical-based ballet is used to teach the art of worship while learning stretching, center work, across the floor exercises, and ballet technique. Beginning Ballet will introduce the fundamentals of ballet while emphasizing musicality, development of overall body strength, flexibility and body alignment. Intermediate Ballet is open to students with at least 1 year of experience and will expand on the fundamentals of ballet while also teaching basic leaps and turns. Advanced Ballet requires at least 2 years of experience and will teach standard leaps, turns and choreography that allows the dancer to express her love to God.

 Beginning Praise Band

Come and join an actual worship band while learning the guitar, ukulele, electric bass and various percussion instruments. You will read chord charts and learn music theory. Students do not have to supply their own instruments but it would be helpful to have them in order to practice at home.

Boys Dance

Boys Dance will teach our young men to use their strength and creativity to worship their Father through movement tap, and tumbling. It is open to boys ages 4 through 7.

Contemporary Dance

Contemporary dance incorporates modern, jazz, lyrical, and classical ballet. A mixture of barre, floor work, turns, and leaps will work together to create worshipful dance. Some dance experience is required.

Crochet

For absolute beginners and those with previous experience. We will learn to make useful items to keep and to bless others.  Students will have the opportunity to create scarves, plush toys, household goods, and much more.

Dance in Worship

This choreography-based class will be involved in several worship services per semester at Celebration Church and other locations.

Students must be available during weekend worship services for several weekends per semester.

Hip Hop

The Hip Hop classes teach rhythm, coordination, musicality and choreography within a positive Christ-centered atmosphere. Dancers develop focus, strength, and agility while having fun and worshiping Jesus.

Interpretive Movement

In Interpretive Movement (IM), students will combine the art of sign language and motion to create a visual interpretation of the lyrics to a song. While this movement is similar to dance the focus will be on the dramatic interpretation of the lyrics. Students who take this class will learn how to put emotion and grace into this simple, but powerful form of movement. Although sign language is an important factor in this class, we do not require you to have any sign language experience.

Parkour

Parkour is a fun and challenging class where you can learn to safely move in new ways! In this class, we work on strength and endurance training through hanging on bars, pullups and pushups, and many other things. We also talk a lot about how to apply biblical disciplines like patience, hard work, and brotherhood through practical lifestyles like working out.

Percussion

Students will be introduced to and develop the basic techniques of percussion playing and music reading. Get ready to beat, tap, and bang your way to fun using a drum kit, a cajon, and more.

Pre-Dance

These classes are a perfect place for little ones to begin learning how to worship Jesus through dance! Through instruction in ballet, tap, and tumbling, students will develop basic coordination, strength, balance, rhythm, flexibility, and basic dance skills.

Private Music Lessons

Lessons are available in guitar, ukulele, bass guitar, banjo, mandolin, voice, piano, and fiddle. Our instructors teach all ages and ability levels including people with special needs. Lessons include music reading, music theory, and sight-reading. Lesson fees and times will be arranged privately with each instructor.

Sew and serve

In this sewing class, we will sew simple and useful items to donate and bless those in children’s hospitals, mission groups, nursing homes, cancer treatment centers, NICU, homeless shelters, military bases and more. All levels of experience are welcome.

Tap

Students will learn basic tap technique while building strength, coordination, flexibility, and rhythmic skills. Intermediate and advanced tap is open to all ages who have at least 3 years of tap experience.  Tap basics is a four-week crash course in tap technique for teens and adults interested in enrolling in intermediate tap.

Tumbling

All tumbling classes follow the USA Gymnastics guidelines that are designed to teach gross motor skills such as forward & backward rolls, cartwheels, handstands, bridges, round-offs, front walkovers, back walkovers, multiple cartwheels, back handsprings, and back tucks. All tumbling classes are taught by Debbie Neilson, who has been coaching for 38 years and is a national instructor and a nationally-ranked judge for USA gymnastics.

Worship Flags
