About Lori Vaugh

Lori Vaughn is a fine artist, educator, and speaker. She grew up in Franklin, TN, where her earliest memories involved a paintbrush and easel. Art has always been part of her life. Lori earned a degree in art education from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, TN. Immediately after that she began teaching art in the Kingsport City and the Williamson County school systems. Lori served in various ministry roles in middle and east Tennessee, which included launching the children’s ministry at Celebration Church in 1999.

In addition, Lori has given private art lessons and taught at art camps through the years. Though her roots are deep in Tennessee, She began to feel the call to take her passion for art and education to an international school overseas. In 2012 she began teaching art, bible, and drama at a K-12 international school in Turkey with students from over 75 countries. This rich experience allowed Lori to learn about many cultures, travel extensively, gain firsthand knowledge of art’s great masterpieces, and most importantly experience God’s great strength and provision through serving Him overseas. With over 22 years of experience in working with students, one of her greatest joys has been to encourage young artists and actors in their own creative journeys. Lori is passionate for students to understand that they are the most uniquely created masterpiece and can flourish using their creative gifts.

Lori returned to Tennessee in May 2020 to walk a new artistic journey. She currently teaches art and drama at Peachtree Learning Center, Fine Arts Academy in Cookeville, TN. As an acrylic, mixed media, and watercolor artist, her heart’s desire is to create art that will share the beauty of this world and its rich cultures, to inspire others to do the same, and to bring glory to the One who created it all. Lori’s work embodies strong, contrasting color and rich textural qualities. Nature, culture, Biblical influences, and emotions are often expressed in her artwork. May you experience joy, hope, and peace as you discover L. K. Vaughn Art.
